Multifocal or Progressive Lenses

After the age of forty our eyes begin to fail to focus closely and reading a newspaper or mobile phone becomes difficult, this visual problem is called presbyopia.

Our daily visual requests, however, are not limited to just viewing at a reading distance, but range from all distances to objects near us, 50 cm, 65 cm, 80 cm 2 m ... . to have perfect vision at all distances our eyes must be able to see through a lens with specific power for each distance, a lens with "many focal lengths" or with a "progression of focal lengths", therefore multifocal or progressive lenses are needed. .

The procedure for making a multifocal eyewear made in a workmanlike manner passes through precise steps.

The first phase involves an eye exam that can take place at our office or at your trusted ophthalmologist.

The next step is choosing the lens. The lenses for multifocal spectacles can in fact be of different types: with long, short, unbreakable or crystal channels, anti-reflective, anti-scratch, photochromic, up to the latest generation lenses customized to the customer's needs with very large reading areas such as Varilux X Series, the Hoya ID MyStyle. Our experience therefore allows us to recommend the most suitable type of multifocal lens according to the client's visual needs (work, computer, hobby, driving ...) without ever losing sight of the economic side and the guarantee of fit that we offer to our customers. .

Finally, the last step is the computerized photocentering with tools such as the Visureal or the Visionoffice which allows to detect in an absolutely precise way the perfect centering of the lenses with respect to the visual axes, which will lead the customer to adapt perfectly to the multifocal glasses. .

The Photocentrator allows you to accurately detect the physiological parameters of the customer and those referring to the frame worn with precision and without the possibility of error. To conclude the centering phase, we manually check the same parameters detected by the instrument with a more “dynamic” analysis by carefully evaluating the person's posture while reading or in front of the PC. The result in our center is multifocal and progressive eyewear with success and approval rates close to 97% among our customers. (data on file Hoya Lens year 2010).

We therefore advise you to make an appointment to check together the lenses that best suit your needs.
